Vision of the college

To develop the total personality of every student in a holistic way adhering to the principles of Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi.

Objectives And Plans

The Kongunadu Arts and Science College has maintained a distinctive identity from its inception and has always remained as a ‘College with a difference’. The College is a standing example of cooperative endeavour because it came into existence on account of the support and determination of 16000 farmers of the local peasant community.

The College emblem captures the ethos of the Founders of the College and embodies the principle of ‘WISDOM decorated by CULTURE and sustained by WORK .’

The inculcation of moral and ethical values to the student community supported by the ideal of “man making education” in line with the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi has been the guiding spirit of the College.

The origin and history of the College has been closely linked with the aspirations of the farming community. Therefore using the medium and tool of higher education as a means for transforming the social and economic development of the backward and disadvantaged communities has become an important objective the College has adopted for itself.

The empowerment of women who were the mainstay of farming operations in the region was another fond dream of the Founding Fathers and this has found successful expression in the greater number of women students admitted in the College.

Update academic and management practices towards total quality management and promote quality in all spheres.

Facilitate ongoing faculty development and strengthen the Research culture so that the College maintains educational excellence through a shared vision and team effort.

Use educational technology to enrich the teaching and learning process by regularly improving infrastructural resources and employ the best technology.

Retain the services of experts from industry and forge closer links for offering new vocational programmes that are in high demand in the labour market.

Extend the best student support services by making them comprehensive and efficiently delivered.

Take steps to make education affordable and accessible by extending scholarships to the meritorious and economically disadvantaged.

Evolve into a role model for other institutions of higher education.
